Significant changes have occurred in the auto industry since Henry Ford developed the Model T and motorized transportation. Today, the industry is quickly moving away from internal combustion vehicles (ICEs), setting its sights on vehicles powered by electricity (EVs).  Driven by several factors, automakers have committed to spending over $500 billion to electrify their fleets. Some automakers, such as GM, have committed to eliminating the sale of ICEs, and California, the largest vehicle market in the U.S., will ban the sales of ICEs by 2035.

In this webinar, Auto Industry and Electric Vehicle Expert and Eleven Canterbury Executive Consultant Dennis Cuneo will examine the changes in the automotive industry over the past several years and what lies ahead in the near future.

Key topics Dennis will cover include:

  1. The impact of the recent election on EV adoption.  Will the transition to EVs stop – or merely be slowed down?
  2. Competition with the Chinese EV juggernaut
  3. The pros and cons of owning an EV
  4. The future of autonomous vehicles

About the Speaker

Dennis Cuneo has 40 years of experience in the auto industry. He was a Senior Vice President of Toyota and has sat on the Boards of 2 major auto suppliers impacted by the switch from ICEs to EVs.  He is currently consulting on the scale-up of a $7 billion EV battery plant and is an advisor to a Private Equity firm that is investing in the EV space. He formerly served as Board Chair of the Federal Reserve Bank in Cincinnati and held gubernatorial appointments in California, Kentucky, and Mississippi.

Taking Charge of Change

Tuesday, June 11, 2024

From earthquakes to lifequakes, one thing is certain: change, whether foreseen or random, is inevitable.
As the pace of change accelerates, it’s clear that what worked for us yesterday won’t necessarily work
for us today.

Senior corporate positions provide a sense of security, status, identity, support, and familiarity in
turbulent and unstable economic times. But what happens when we lose that corporate identity and
sense of security?

Taking Charge of Change focuses on embracing change and seizing opportunities to move past the
familiar. Eleven Canterbury’s Relationship and Program Manager Dan Martin and Anika Gokavic, Ph.D,
a Business Psychology Executive, share experiences and lessons learned from their transitions out of
full-time corporate employment into exciting and rewarding new careers.

They share their personal ‘I wish I had known …’ and ‘Why did I do that?’ moments and proven ways to
seize new opportunities. The discussion explores how to discover, communicate, and successfully deploy
your skills and talents to support your new purpose.
